About the position

The Sustaining Engineer at PSG Cincinnati will be a key member of the Engineering Team, responsible for developing new product projects focused on mechanical designs of chemical dispensers and similar products. This role emphasizes delivering high-quality, innovative, and market-leading designs that are cost-effective and easy to manufacture. The engineer will manage projects from conception to production, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery while maintaining scope constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute technical tasks to solve engineering problems using analytical and experimental skills.
  • Design mechanical and electromechanical products from idea to production, including static and dynamic-loaded injection-molded components.
  • Create new designs based on product specifications and investigate opportunities for productivity and cost-saving projects.
  • Create, modify, and maintain complex design files (3D & 2D) using CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Develop test plans and work in a lab environment to validate concepts, prototypes, and product designs through verification and validation processes.
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines and team members to ensure project success.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision, focusing on robust, timely, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Validate solutions using proven engineering techniques such as FEA, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
  • Effectively communicate technical information both orally and in writing to peers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a similar field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design.
  • Knowledge of plastic materials, fluid mechanics, and mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and experience with static and dynamic FEA.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team and take direction.
  • Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
