About the position

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to become a part of our team! You will prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare diagrams and drawings for electrical sheet metal units
• Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments
• Review and modify designs to reduce production deficiencies
• Provide timely updates for drawing completion and workload
• Coordinate with other colleagues regarding complex diagrams
• Fully model and create parts and assemblies in SolidWorks
• Create and revise fully detailed engineering prints
• Analyze and respond to issues from both customers and assembly floor
• Provide technical direction for prototype builds, and initial builds as required
• Provide project management guidance on all mechanical engineering aspects of a project
• Create and validate Bills of Materials and drawings for customer submittal and fabrication

Requirements

• Previous experience in mechanical drafting, manufacturing or other related fields
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or experience in the engineering field
• Familiarity with machine designs and diagrams
• Knowledge of operating an FEA tools
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or other related 3D software
• Knowledge of Sheet Metal and Designs
• Desired Knowledge of Electro-Mechanical Switchgear
• Deadline and detail-oriented
