About the position

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of downhole tools within the oil and gas industry. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure tool performance and compliance with industry standards. The engineer will create detailed designs, prototypes, and testing plans, while also troubleshooting any issues that arise during the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop downhole tools for oil and gas applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams to identify testing requirements and validate tool performance.
  • Create detailed designs, prototypes, and testing plans for tools.
  • Identify and troubleshoot tool issues as they arise.
  • Create detailed reports and documentation of design processes and outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices in mechanical design.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ISO, etc.) and company regulations.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience in the design of oil and gas tools, with a preference for candidates with prior Halliburton experience.
  • General knowledge of well construction and well completion design.
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work with global teams across various time zones.
