About the position

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves performing mechanical engineering and consulting services, and working with a team to create reliable and secure system solutions for generating stations and ancillary equipment. Projects range in size and complexity from small utility generating station upgrades to large turnkey power plant constructions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical engineering and consulting services.
  • Collaborate with the team to create reliable and secure system solutions for generating stations and ancillary equipment.
  • Design and draft mechanical systems using CAD software such as AutoCAD, NX, or Solidworks.
  • Size and select fluid system components based on engineering principles and customer specifications.
  • Design and lay out site-level arrangement drawings, as well as site grading and foundation interface definition drawings.
  • Evaluate vendor and customer drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ANSI, API, AWS, and ASCE standards.
  • Create and update mechanical and structural drawings.
  • Manage engineering changes and documentation control systems.
  • Work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, specifically AutoCAD and NX; Solidworks or similar software can be substituted.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with piping/mechanical systems for Gas Turbines.
  • Knowledge of plant operation and safety interlocks.
  • Familiarity with documentation and configuration control systems.
  • Experience in designing piping systems for water, diesel fuel, lubricating oil, and natural gas.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SAP Enterprise Management software.
  • Familiarity with export control regulations.
  • Design experience with fluid systems, including pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation, and pipe/tube components.
  • Experience with Gas Turbines, power stations, or batch processing/manufacturing facilities.
