About the position
The Mechanical Design Systems Engineer will be an integral part of the sort center team, focusing on the design of material handling equipment such as conveyor belts and other machinery. This role involves writing RFPs, collaborating with vendors for site selection, and overseeing the engineering design process through to execution. The position requires hands-on design experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on various design disciplines including automotive and warehouse systems.
Responsibilities
- Design material handling equipment within the sorting center, including conveyor belts and other machinery.
- Write RFPs and collaborate with vendors for site selection.
- Work on engineering design and facilitate hand-off to execution.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Solidworks for design tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, manufacturing).
- 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial designs.
- Hands-on design experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks.
