About the position

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join the team of a reputable manufacturing company in Waunakee. This position is responsible for creating customer drawings, machining prints for parts, and assembly drawings for special designs. The role also involves providing technical support for North America related to design drafting functions and performing other engineering tasks as they relate to the product.

Responsibilities

• Create customer drawings and machining prints for parts.
• Develop assembly drawings for special designs.
• Provide technical support for North America regarding design drafting functions.
• Perform part number creation and maintenance.
• Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Process Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
• Act as a technical resource for North American operations.
• Create component drawings in 2D and 3D as needed.
• Communicate with global networks to resolve design issues.
• Define products via proposal drawings.
• Modify existing products for customer-specific applications.
• Create certified drawings and additional technical support documentation.
• Assist in establishing internal processing methodologies for repetitive orders.

Requirements

• 2-year A.S. Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent experience.
• Experience with engineering and design responsibilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D modeling (Inventor or SolidWorks preferred).
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in team environments and independently.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Strong technical skills.
