About the position

The Mechanical Designer/Drafter position at Actalent involves designing parts and equipment for abrasive cleaning and blast equipment. The role is crucial for creating and editing prints, part modeling, and providing support for manufacturability. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a small team in a family-like atmosphere, contributing to a variety of product lines and gaining significant hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Design parts and equipment, spending 60-70% of time on part modeling and print creation/editing.
• Perform nestings for materials being cut, which will constitute 30-40% of the role.
• Provide floor support to assist with the manufacturability of designed parts and equipment.

Requirements

• Associates degree in design or engineering.
• 2-5 years of experience with CAD design software (Solidworks preferred, but open to others like Creo and Autodesk Inventor).
• Experience in sheet metal design.
• Basic understanding of GD&T.
