About the position

FLW, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Designer to join their team in Huntington Beach, California. This role focuses on the design and fabrication of custom test systems for various industries, including aerospace and pharmaceuticals. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for developing 2D and 3D models, generating bill of materials, and producing detailed drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D models based on engineering sketches and concepts.
• Generate bill of materials (BOMs) for various systems.
• Produce 2D circuit and electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create detailed 3D models of components and system assemblies.
• Draft construction, production, and installation drawings from 3D assemblies.
• Prepare operating manuals utilizing drawings and models.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrably successful experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in leading 2D and 3D design software applications, with a preference for AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• A thorough understanding of mechanical principles and established engineering practices.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with engineers, customers, and other team members.
