About the position

The Mechanical Designer/Drafter at Tymetal Corp. is responsible for creating and maintaining detailed drawings and designs for steel and aluminum gate products. This role involves collaboration with sales and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate and efficient production processes, utilizing software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain layouts, cut sheets, and designs for steel and aluminum gate products.
• Prepare drawings from photos, detailed notes, and product specifications for sales and manufacturing departments.
• Generate manufacturing bills of material (BOM's).
• Convert sales orders to manufacturing work orders using ERP software.
• Recommend design modifications to improve and/or simplify finished products.
• Update and modify drawings based on Engineering Change Notices submitted by manufacturing.

Requirements

• AAS in Mechanical Drafting or Design, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with document management systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Manufacturing and steel or aluminum fabrication experience preferred.
