Mechanical Designer/Technical Writer

About the position

ProMach's Zalkin America's is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer/Technical Writer. In this role, you'll produce and maintain high-quality documentation of our equipment and components. You'll be part of a highly talented team at Zalkin that is passionate about providing bottle capping solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality documentation (manuals, appendices, operating and maintenance instructions, etc.) that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
• Work with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Aftermarket) to obtain an in-depth understanding of our robotic systems/cells and the technical documentation requirements. Gather and research information.
• Obtain technical input and review of content from various subject matter experts prior to production of final documentation.
• Analyze existing and potential content for improvement opportunities.
• Design and model minor parts and assemblies in Engineering design software.
• Assist in the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) process through revision of parts and assemblies while ensuring updates are maintained.
• Create critical spare parts lists and complete other tasks assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience working in a technical role, mechanical equipment design experience preferred.
• Solidworks CSWP or other Solidworks certifications required.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD required.
• Knowledge of ProE/Creo preferred.
• Knowledgeable of Solidworks PDM and vault workflows.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to use mathematics along with analytical use of engineering charts, tables, and precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to understand packaging automation and company products.
