About the position

The Mechanical Designer at TA Systems Inc. is responsible for designing and releasing automation and assembly equipment using SolidWorks software. This role involves integrating customer specifications and internal guidelines into viable machine designs, ensuring durability and performance through careful calculations and material selection. The designer will create detailed drawings and documentation, manage project folders, and address engineering challenges creatively.

Responsibilities

• Design automation, tooling, and assembly machines using SolidWorks.
• Integrate customer specifications and internal guidelines into machine designs.
• Calculate loads, masses, and rates to ensure predictable machine performance.
• Create concept and final drawings using SolidWorks software.
• Select materials and components for equipment construction.
• Develop detailed Bill of Materials for engineering releases.
• Issue and revise drawings as necessary.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Research and evaluate mechanical products and systems to meet requirements.
• Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 5 years of direct field experience in mechanical design or equivalent.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks software.
