About the position
The Mechanical Developer at Innomotics is responsible for the mechanical design of industrial electric motor components, focusing on new product development and validation through mechanical engineering analysis techniques. This role is crucial in ensuring the performance, cost-effectiveness, and functionality of components while meeting project milestones. The position supports the entire product lifecycle of high voltage induction motors, contributing to the company's mission of providing sustainable and energy-efficient solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create new components and assemblies which meet all project requirements using NX and Teamcenter
- Validate components through static and dynamic structural analysis in an FEA environment (ANSYS)
- Use Teamcenter to manage and control models, drawings and bills of material
- Provide technical support to procurement, operations and manufacturing functions in purchasing and building new components
- Troubleshoot semi-complex design and manufacturing process issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Mechanical Engineering technology (MET) required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience performing 3D mechanical design for industrial equipment
- Intermediate-level use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong 3D modeling in NX
- Strong 2D drawing creation in NX
- Basic ability to conduct mechanical stress analysis in ANSYS
- Basic technical writing
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
Nice-to-haves
- Specific experience in rotating equipment mechanical design
- Significant experience or educational background in dynamic structural analysis of industrial equipment
- Notable experience in bearing design
- High-performance fan design
- Fluid heat exchanger design or fluid flow simulation
- Troubleshooting of industrial equipment vibration
- Engineer-to-order process automation using RuleStream
