About the position

The Mechanical Drafter/CAD Operator role involves utilizing Autodesk Inventor to design and draft Food Service and Kitchen Equipment products. The position requires collaboration with sales and customers to create designs and prototypes that meet specific application needs, while also estimating and quoting various products in the food service industry.

Responsibilities

• Drafting/utilizing Autodesk Inventor to design Food Service/Kitchen Equipment products.
• Estimating/quoting a variety of Food Service/Kitchen type products.
• Collaborating with Sales and Customers in the Food Service Industry on designs, specifications, and prototypes to suit their application needs.
• Monitoring product documentation for accuracy and making necessary corrective actions.

Requirements

• Relevant degree preferred, but extensive on-the-job experience in a similar environment may substitute for formal education.
• Experience with equipment used to cut, bend, join, and finish ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Knowledge of the Food Service Industry Equipment required.
• Two years of quoting/estimating and drafting preferred.
• Two years of Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD or equivalent experience required.
• Knowledge of Epicor and proficiency with other ERP packages may be considered.
• Generalist approach to the field with a willingness to research and execute projects with a very 'hands-on' approach.
• Ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization in a diplomatic yet assertive way.
