At Westinghouse, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace. As a Mechanical Drafter/Designer, you will perform a variety of Mechanical and/or Electrical technical and engineering assignments for Technical Services including design, drafting, and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation projects (Capital, Expense, Development) under the guidance of a qualified professional engineer. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing drafting/design/engineering request workloads and coordinating requests to ensure timely completion and level loading. You will perform the role of mechanical engineering support technician to Technical Services, preparing conceptual and preliminary designs of mechanical equipment or systems using CAD software under the guidance of a Westinghouse engineer. Proficiency in the use of Bill of Material software is essential, as well as performing inspections and verification of field conditions during design. In addition, you will engage in project support activities, performing advanced project controls (scope, cost, estimate, and schedule) for assigned projects under the guidance of a Technical Services engineer or project manager. This includes generating installation instructions, coordinating and interfacing with contractors, and providing technical and project oversight for installation activities. You will also assist in preparing requirements and specification documents for purchasing and fabricating equipment and systems, generating requests for quotes and purchase requests, and identifying and acquiring spare parts for various projects. As a CAD drafter, you will perform mechanical/electrical designs under the direction of a WEC engineer, ensuring compliance with facility specifications and Technical Services engineering and drafting procedures. You will be a software subject matter expert (SME) for multiple engineering tools such as L2L, ENOVIA, SharePoint, and PowerBI, and provide troubleshooting and support for scanner/plotter and other hardware tools.
