About the position

CheckSum is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join its design team, responsible for creating designs and technical drawings for mechanical devices and equipment used in electronic test equipment fixtures. The role involves collaboration with engineers to enhance manufacturing systems and processes, utilizing both 2D and 3D CAD software to produce detailed drawings and models.

Responsibilities

• Create designs and technical drawings for mechanical devices and equipment.
• Perform mechanical design of test fixtures using CAM software, specifically Test Sight Developer.
• Communicate with electrical engineers and wiring technicians to integrate electrical components with mechanical features.
• Utilize 2D CAD software to generate detailed drawings for the assembly team.
• Create 3D models of fixture parts and assemblies using 3D software.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required, some college courses in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with demonstrated design capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Creative thinker with the ability to visualize future results.
• Strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for solving problems.
• Must be a team player with the ability to work independently.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills including experience with CAD.
• Basic knowledge of FEA and strain analysis preferred.
