About the position

The Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for various mechanical components, including heavy sawmill equipment and machine spare parts. This role requires collaboration with the engineering team to ensure designs meet project specifications and manufacturing capabilities, utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and detailed assembly, sub-assembly, manufacturing, and design drawings.
• Ensure all designs align with project requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and modify designs using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and proposing effective solutions.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for 3D modeling and design.
• 1 year of experience with SolidWorks (Required).
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles, including machining and fabrication.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree preferred in Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in SolidWorks drafting/designing and 3D modeling - Mechanical.
