About the position

Stark Solutions, one of the fastest-growing companies in the Conroe area, is seeking to hire a Mechanical Drafter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new drawing files from existing 3D model files, using similar drawings as references. This role requires a positive attitude and team spirit, as the Mechanical Drafter will work efficiently in a collaborative environment during day shifts from Monday to Friday. The Mechanical Drafter will play a crucial role in increasing the standard library of parts by scaling up existing library models and assemblies. Additionally, the drafter will update existing drawing files to enhance usability for other departments, including manufacturing, quality, and sales. The position also involves generating customer-level drawings from manufacturing assemblies and creating or updating models and drawings as required by the Engineering Change Order process. Familiarity with the company's ERP software for part number and bill of material creation or editing is essential. The drafter will assist Mechanical Design Engineers in creating technical documentation relevant to product designs and participate in ISO, ASME, and other company audits as required. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software, along with experience in ePDM or other PDM solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is necessary, with an intermediate level of knowledge in Excel formulas and data manipulation preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, outstanding communication skills, and an analytical mind with problem-solving abilities. The ability to multitask on multiple projects while adhering to guidance on priority and importance is crucial. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate new drawing files from existing 3D model files using existing similar drawings as reference.
• Increase standard library of parts by scaling up existing library models and assemblies.
• Update existing drawing files for ease of use by other company departments (manufacturing, quality, sales).
• Generate customer level drawings from manufacturing assemblies.
• Create/Update models and/or drawings as required by Engineering Change Order process.
• Work with company's ERP software for part number and bill of material creation or editing.
• Assist Mechanical Design Engineers in creation of technical documentation relevant to product designs.
• Participate in ISO, ASME, and other company audits as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience with SolidWorks (preferred) or other 3D modeling software.
• Experience with ePDM (or other PDM solution).
• Familiar with Microsoft Office software, specifically Word and Excel.
• Intermediate level knowledge of Excel formulas and data manipulation preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Analytical mind with problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions, and decisions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ASME codes & standards (2 years preferred).
• 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Drafter (preferred).
