About the position

We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter with proven modeling and drafting experience utilizing SolidWorks for a 3-4 month contract position. In this role, you will work closely with other engineering team members to support product development and design revisions. Your responsibilities will include working with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards, ensuring accurate database entry, revising product Bills of Materials (BOMs), and maintaining the drawings necessary for manufacturing processes. This position is critical to our immediate needs and requires a detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Mechanical Drafter, you will be expected to create and revise technical drawings that meet industry standards and specifications. Your expertise in SolidWorks will be essential for modeling components and assemblies, while your understanding of GD&T will ensure that the designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards. You will also be responsible for managing the BOMs, which involves keeping track of parts and materials needed for production, as well as updating any changes that occur during the design process. This is a fully onsite position located in Overland Park, KS, and it is essential that you are available to start immediately. The role requires strong collaboration with the engineering team, so effective communication skills are vital. You will need to be organized and capable of multi-tasking to handle various projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize SolidWorks for modeling and drafting mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Work with GD&T standards to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements.
