About the position

As a Senior Mechanical/Electrical Engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology, you will play a pivotal role in managing and providing hardware and integration engineering for electro-mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including the design and engineering development of systems, focusing on product enclosures, heat transfer design, and optimizing kits. You will be tasked with designing electrical circuits that minimize Space Weight And Power (SWAP), ensuring that the systems are efficient and effective in their operations. In this role, you will support design reviews and improvements, create design drawing packages, circuit diagrams, and cable/harness designs. You will also be responsible for developing hardware changes as part of Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) implementations. Your expertise will be crucial in providing support for hardware design, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical analysis, as well as performing repairs and diagnostics at both the system and board/unit levels. You will be expected to develop, review, and comment on proposed engineering changes, waivers, deviations, and alterations, assessing their impact on performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, quality, safety, and life cycle cost. Additionally, you will provide technical support for assembling, integrating, testing, documenting, troubleshooting, installing, and repairing prototypes and Engineering Development Modules (EDMs). Your role will also involve conducting failure cause analysis and developing remediation plans to eliminate future failures. To succeed in this position, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least seven years of professional experience in an engineering capacity, particularly in the design, development, production, or testing of electronic/electro-mechanical and/or hydro-electronic equipment.
