About the position

As a Mechanical Engineer, specifically in the role of Failure Analysis Engineer, you will play a crucial part in our operations by designing equipment, analyzing modifications, managing projects, and producing comprehensive documentation. This position is full-time on the 1st shift, from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of weekend work as needed. Your primary responsibilities will include evaluating and documenting existing processes through failure analysis and testing, which encompasses regression testing and system testing. You will collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to identify and resolve failure causes effectively. Additionally, you will be tasked with implementing new processes and tools aimed at improving quality and processing speed. Providing support to operations and engineering teams is essential, as you will troubleshoot and resolve issues while ensuring that all changes are adequately tested. You will also recommend modifications based on prototype test results, taking into account factors such as cost, safety, and time constraints. Developing detailed test documentation and ensuring the accuracy, quality, and completeness of all engineering documentation will be key aspects of your role. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and document existing processes by performing failure analysis and testing, including regression testing and system testing.
  • Collaborate with appropriate engineers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to drive resolution to the identified failure causes.
  • Identify and drive implementation of new process & tools required to improve quality and processing speed.
  • Provide support to operations and engineering teams, including troubleshooting and resolving issues and ensuring changes are adequately tested.
  • Recommend modifications following prototype test results; consider the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints.
  • Develop detailed test documentation, check all engineering documentation for accuracy, quality and completeness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience.
  • 1 year of experience in testing, failure analysis and automation.
  • Solid knowledge of problem solving and root cause analysis methodologies, concepts, processes, and documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in testing, failure analysis and automation.
  • Experience analyzing and solving problems with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic devices.
  • Ability to learn and understand the functionality of multiple logistics-related systems; ability to learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications, technologies, and tools.
