About the position

As a New Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company, you will be part of an innovative team dedicated to providing clean energy solutions. In this role, you will be expected to engage in various technical projects, utilizing your strong technical aptitude and passion for design and analysis. You will be encouraged to learn and master engineering software, which is essential for your development as a mechanical engineer in the nuclear sector. You will also have the chance to develop and deliver technical presentations, communicating project statuses, problem resolutions, and engineering recommendations effectively to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in the design, construction, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear power plants.
  • Grow and develop extensive technical expertise in US and international nuclear markets.
  • Work in teams to resolve critical issues impacting the construction and operation of nuclear power plants.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with Westinghouse customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (other engineering disciplines will not be considered).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
  • Strong technical aptitude and passion for technical design and analysis.
  • Eagerness to learn and master engineering software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Desire to obtain Engineering in Training Certification with a long-term goal of obtaining P.E.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior Westinghouse internship experience.
  • Prior experience with nuclear power plants.
  • Prior experience with technical engineering projects and/or research.
