The engineer will be responsible for providing mechanical design expertise to support the development of new mechanical items or improving existing ones, which includes performing value analysis during the product design phase to optimize product development costs. In addition to design responsibilities, the Mechanical Engineer 2 will provide technical support for new projects, evaluating the requirements and implications of these projects. Maintaining project files and appropriate records of work is essential, as is acting as a lead by providing knowledge and expertise to colleagues. The role also emphasizes the importance of reducing costs and improving mechanical design and development processes by utilizing best practices and professional knowledge. The engineer will be expected to exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required, with the possibility of working nights and weekends, variable schedules, and additional hours as necessary. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise with complex mechanical engineering solutions.
  • Proficient with 2D drawing standards and requirements including GD&T.
  • Proficient with 3D modeling, CATIA and SolidWorks; ENOVIA experience is a plus.
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to improve products or services by applying professional and business knowledge.
  • Able to solve complex problems and make decisions based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Familiarity with MS Office including Project; Project Server and SAP is helpful.
