The engineer may also incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan, ensuring that all products meet the necessary quality standards. The position requires the inspection of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, along with investigating and initiating corrective actions for any problems or deficiencies that may arise. Developing manufacturing processes that apply statistical process control techniques is also a significant aspect of the job. Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
  • Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency and investigate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies.
  • Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and develop those techniques.
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
  • Work with quality engineering and production operations to initiate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Perform troubleshooting to resolve manufacturing issues and keep production on schedule.
  • Work closely with technicians during the build process and support process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in manufacturing processes and production layouts.
  • Strong understanding of machine design and production conditions.
  • Experience with statistical process control and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with design engineers and production teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
