About the position
The Mechanical Engineer 5 position focuses on leading the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems for various facilities, particularly in HyperScale and Colocation Data Centers. The role involves project delivery methods, conducting airflow CFD modeling, energy audits, and sustainable design strategies, while developing engineering skills through challenging projects.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Focus on design and construction activities including project delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for HyperScale and Colocation Data Centers.
- Support additional areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, and more.
- Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces.
- Conduct energy audit/efficiency studies and sustainable design/LEED application.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC design and Data Centers.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic knowledge of NFPA standards.
- Experience with large-scale water and air-cooled chiller plant design.
- Familiarity with International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards.
- Experience with Cadence Reality Data Center Design (Formerly 6Sigma Room).
