About the position

The Buildings Mechanical Engineer for Data Centers will lead the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems in various facilities, focusing primarily on HyperScale and Colocation Data Center designs. This role involves project delivery methods, conducting airflow CFD modeling, and implementing sustainable design strategies while developing engineering skills through challenging projects.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Focus on design and construction activities including various project delivery methods.
• Design HVAC and plumbing systems for HyperScale and Colocation Data Centers.
• Support additional areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, and Laboratory facilities.
• Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces.
• Perform energy audit/efficiency studies and code reviews.
• Apply sustainable design strategies and assist with LEED applications.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC design and Data Centers.
• Proficient in CFD modeling for Data Centers.
• Basic knowledge of NFPA standards and HVAC equipment sizing.
• Experience with energy modeling for energy codes and green building initiatives.
• Familiarity with technical submittal reviewing and bid reviewing processes.
• Preferred experience in large-scale water and air-cooled chiller plant design.
• Knowledge of International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes and ASHRAE Standards.
• Experience with Cadence Reality Data Center Design.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional Engineering (PE) License.
• AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings.
