About the position

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on Data Center work, responsible for leading and supporting projects in advanced facilities. The role involves ensuring technical quality and adherence to schedules while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver engineered systems for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection. The position also includes mentoring junior team members and contributing to innovative solutions in a flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support engineering tasks for Data Center projects.
  • Ensure technical quality and adherence to project schedules.
  • Provide on-site assistance during startup and coordinate with design and engineering professionals.
  • Deliver design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems.
  • Mentor junior team members and guide their career development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical engineering and design, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and piping.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient working knowledge of Revit software.
  • Eager to learn best practices and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base.
  • Passion for buildings and construction design.
  • Prior experience with semiconductor cleanrooms and complex industrial HVAC systems.
