We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer Department Manager in our Cincinnati, Ohio office location who is passionate about steering a collaborative team to success on Life Sciences projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. You'll be accountable for staffing, budget, schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you deliver on our client's expectations, scope, budget and schedule. You'll also provide leadership during startup, coordinating work activities with other design and engineering professionals. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for building HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems and components. As a passionate leader, you'll leverage your people management skills to help your team members discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward.   • Organize, assign, and delegate necessary engineering and design tasks to produce construction documents in conjunction with a team of engineers and designers
  • Assist in and/or produced scopes, budgets and schedules for engineering/design proposals
  • Coordinate/collaborate with other discipline managers in home offices and throughout the business unit nationally and globally
  • Career Planning and Development for your direct reports
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 12+ years of mechanical engineering and design experience, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and related mechanical building systems
  • Extensive experience in Life Sciences Industry (Biotech/Pharma, Chemical or similar industries)
  • Experience managing a team of design and engineering professionals, including monitoring and managing work performance and driving professional development
  • Professional Engineer License (PE)
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary, international teams
