About the position

KLA is a global leader in diversified electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, and we are always looking to build our Mechanical Engineering talent community. Although we do not currently have an opening, we are interested in learning about your background for future opportunities. We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer with precision machine design experience to lead the mechanical design related to our cutting-edge EBeam systems and support current generation products. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design of complex e-beam mechanical structures, including precision mechanical components and subsystems. You will manage large assemblies and system layouts using reference geometry, conduct requirement and concept design reviews to understand the pros and cons, and utilize various methods (analytical, numerical, experimental) to prove feasibility. Close communication with vendors will be essential to understand their manufacturing processes, mechanisms, and risks, allowing you to make informed choices. You will also be expected to use CAD software to deliver part and assembly drawings, perform necessary analyses using CAD/FEA software, and choose or design proper tooling for manufacturing and field support. Your responsibilities will include driving part purchases, prototype assembly, system integration, and qualification. Collaboration with manufacturing and field support engineers will be crucial to create procedures and release designs, as well as to drive the troubleshooting process. This position requires strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods, along with hands-on experience in mechanical part machining and assembly with proper tooling. Familiarity with vacuum systems, high voltage applications, thermal/cooling, vibration/damping, and contamination control is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of complex e-beam mechanical structures including precision mechanical components and subsystems.
  • Manage large assemblies and system layout using reference geometry.
