About the position

The Mechanical Engineer position at Lockheed Martin involves working under the guidance of senior engineers to research, design, analyze, and develop mechanical and propulsion components for Lockheed Martin Space products. Responsibilities

  • Research, design, analyze, and develop mechanical and propulsion components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity.
  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support product build and testing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical modeling or analysis tools, such as Solidworks/CREO, Nastran, or Thermal Desktop.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Fundamental understanding of structures, mechanisms, and materials.
  • Desire to work with propulsion, structures, mechanisms, thermal, analysis, and all things Lockheed Martin Space.
