Responsibilities

  • Working with teams and clients to solve problems, support projects, improve operations, and develop healthy business infrastructure
  • Applying sound engineering principles on active projects
  • Meeting deadlines and adhering to assigned scopes of work
  • Participating in department/company meetings and development programs
  • Learning to prepare, read, and interpret drawings and other project documents
  • Gaining relevant field experience through job site visits
  • Participating as part of a project team in a field and office environment
  • Building professional interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Utilizing industry software to develop engineering analyses and design drawings
  • Developing Critical Listening skills
  • Developing written and verbal presentation and communication skills
  • Acquiring technical skills through training and firsthand experiences
  • Manipulating and applying data to the analysis of real-world situations
  • Reading, interpreting, and properly applying design Codes and Standards
  • Developing critical thinking and practical application skills
  • Learning practical application of engineering principles
  • Learning administrative engineering procedures and protocols
  • Developing formal reports and calculation documents
  • Operating within an established job process and product quality framework

Requirements

  • Completed a BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Prepared to take the Engineering Intern exam
  • Demonstrated academic achievement, initiative, integrity, work ethic, and willingness to learn
  • Proficient with word processing, PowerPoint, email, spreadsheets, and AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Experience with Revit or BIM preferred but not required
  • Occasional travel to project sites and other areas may be required
