About the position

The Mechanical Engineer (Facilities) position at Crayola is a full-time, on-site role based in Easton, PA, that plays a crucial part in the manufacturing process of Crayola's products. This role is essential for maintaining the critical infrastructure that supports all manufacturing operations. The position requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, enabling the engineer to provide in-house expertise that is timely and cost-effective, as opposed to relying on external engineering services. The engineer will be responsible for a variety of mechanical systems, including chillers, cooling towers, piping systems, air compressors, and more, ensuring that these systems operate efficiently and effectively within the manufacturing environment. In this role, the engineer will collaborate closely with multiple departments to provide mechanical engineering support for the design, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing assets located in the Lehigh Valley, Mexico, and TCE locations. The engineer will be tasked with designing mechanical components and systems, utilizing 3D modeling software to create detailed drawings and specifications. Additionally, the engineer will lead cross-functional teams to address chronic manufacturing issues through structured problem-solving methods, ensuring that solutions are both effective and cost-efficient. The position also involves managing capital projects of varying sizes, which includes overseeing design reviews, cost estimates, and installation specifications. The engineer will provide on-site supervision during emergency maintenance events, ensuring that technical support is available 24/7. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency in the manufacturing process.
