About the position

The Mechanical Engineer position at Collins Aerospace focuses on the design and development of oxygen breathing systems for commercial and military applications. This role involves collaboration with various engineering disciplines to ensure product compliance and performance, while also providing opportunities for leadership and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical mechanical product expert collaborating with project engineers and other team members.
• Lead the analysis of existing processes and develop new processes for oxygen systems.
• Participate in all phases of engineering processes from concept evaluation to product field support.
• Chair design reviews and lessons learned sessions to ensure mechanical design maturity.
• Troubleshoot challenges in the design and development of oxygen systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to program information.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with Aerospace products and DO-160 or MIL-STD environmental qualification.
• Familiarity with Oxygen Systems or Passenger Service Units (PSUs).
• Experience with Siemens NX CAD development tools and integration with Team Center.
