About the position

The Mechanical Engineer position at Kronos involves performing advanced analysis of static structural components and systems for gas turbine engines within the aerospace industry. The role requires expertise in stress analysis, design, development, and testing of components to ensure they meet life, cost, weight, maintainability, and durability requirements. The position is hybrid, requiring three days onsite and two days remote work, and includes opportunities for collaboration with design teams and global support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of static structural components and systems for gas turbine engines.
  • Conduct stress, strength, vibration, heat transfer, deflection, fatigue life, containment, and material selection analyses.
  • Create and develop design solutions for new and existing products.
  • Present analytical results in design reviews and document them to meet program deliverables.
  • Provide technical oversight to global engineering teams across time zones.
  • Guide junior engineers and validate requirements.
  • Ensure project and product compliance and manage risks.
  • Contribute to process development and root cause corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience in stress analysis via classic hand calculation and ANSYS workbench FEA for Aerospace or Space industries.
  • Trained in GD&T and capable of reviewing blueprints and inspection reports.
  • Good communication skills in English for technical reports and presentations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing structural analysis on gas turbine engines or load-bearing components.
  • Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elasto-plastic, fatigue, modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, and crack growth analyses.
  • Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software and classical hand calculation methods.
