About the position

The entry-level Mechanical Engineer will investigate design issues in products that do not function as expected, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves designing mechanical solutions, performing root cause analyses, and supporting continuous improvement activities, while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical solutions with a focus on product reliability, maintainability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Responsible for closing project tasks within the required timeframe.
• Present solutions in review meetings and provide constructive feedback on design proposals.
• Communicate with internal and external parties, including customers and vendors.
• Perform root cause analyses and develop corrective actions for in-service issues.
• Conduct and coordinate reliability testing and abuse load testing.
• Support the implementation of processes or standards to improve new products.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Knowledge of root cause analysis and field investigations.
• Knowledge of GD&T and drafting practices.
• Knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) tools, mechanical design, and manufacturing principles - Siemens NX preferred.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials.
• Knowledge of aircraft seating and certification requirements preferred.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferred.
• A university degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
