About the position

The Mechanical Engineer I role is an entry-level position that involves performing routine engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature and limited scope. This position requires the application of standard mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies to support various engineering tasks. The Mechanical Engineer I will assist in the design and project/process management of projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under the technical guidance of more experienced engineers. In this role, the engineer will participate in establishing operating procedures for new products and components, ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective. The position also involves supporting the development of testing procedures and performing routine to moderately complex engineering evaluations. The Mechanical Engineer I will analyze evaluation reports and discrepancies, making recommendations aimed at improving productivity and quality while reducing flow time. Collaboration is key in this role, as the engineer will interact as part of a team with design agencies, suppliers, and internal organizations, all under the guidance of experienced Mechanical Engineers. This teamwork is essential for assisting in the realization of products and ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the design and/or project/process management of projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under technical guidance.
  • Participates in establishing operating procedures on new products and components.
  • Supports the development of testing procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluations.
  • Analyzes evaluation reports and discrepancies to make recommendations that improve productivity and quality to reduce flowtime.
  • Interacts as a team with design agencies, suppliers, and/or internal organizations under the guidance from experienced Mechanical Engineers to assist in product realization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and determined by the needs of the business.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous relevant internship experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrates analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, and written documentation.
  • Demonstrates established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects.
  • Looks for opportunities to document improvements/innovations in approved processes.
