About the position
The Mechanical Engineer II position at Raytheon involves designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining complex mechanical test systems for various Raytheon products. This role is part of the Test Equipment Engineering organization, which is responsible for creating test solutions that ensure the reliability and accuracy of weapon systems. The position requires hands-on work with the latest technology and tools, contributing to all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including production testing and system verification.
Responsibilities
- Research, plan, design, and document mechanical test systems for production testing environments.
- Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
- Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of two (2) years of prior relevant experience.
- Two (2) years of technical / engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
- Two (2) years of experience with CAD solid modeling tools.
- Experience creating mechanical drawing packages.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.
Nice-to-haves
- Design experience using Creo with mechanical and electronic packaging.
- Creo Schematic and cable design experience.
- Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM).
- Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development.
- Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.).
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis.
