About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer III position at bioMérieux involves applying mechanical engineering principles to solve complex engineering problems within a team environment. The role requires collaboration with other engineers and project managers, with opportunities for mentoring and limited leadership responsibilities. The engineer will work on a variety of projects, making design and technical decisions under the guidance of senior engineers, while ensuring compliance with company policies and quality systems.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in a related field, including performance consistent with said experience.
  • Experience with Solidworks, plastics design, optics design, sheet metal design, heat transfer, molding processes, materials (plastics, aluminum, copper, steel), pneumatics, machining (especially CNC), GD&T, Six Sigma/Lean/SPC, manufacturing processes, and statistical analysis.

  • Knowledge of heat transfer
  • Familiarity with molding processes
  • Understanding of materials such as plastics, aluminum, copper, and steel

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Experience in statistical analysis

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMérieux's Quality System.
  • Use engineering concepts and company SOPs/WIDs to solve a variety of difficult engineering problems across functional groups and disciplines.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope and complexity, usually as part of a team with other engineers.
  • Make design and technical decisions subject to review by Senior, Principal, and other engineers.
  • Provide mentoring for other engineers and may provide limited department management and leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
