About the position
The Mechanical Engineer Intern/Co-op position at CMTA offers college students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mechanical, HVAC, and energy design within a collaborative engineering environment. Interns will work closely with professional engineers, learning to produce construction drawings and assist in various aspects of project development. This full-time, onsite role is designed for students pursuing degrees in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, providing a pathway to potential full-time employment after graduation.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems
- Produce one-line diagrams/schematics
- Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings
- Assist in data collection and/or field verification
- Work with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior
- Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering
- AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to work full time in the office throughout the co-op term
- Ability to travel locally for job site inspections and field work
