About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer Intern, Server Design position at Lenovo offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in product design, specifically focusing on server technology. Interns will work closely with experienced engineers to contribute to the design process from concept to market availability, emphasizing creativity and attention to detail in developing energy-efficient and innovative server solutions.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Ability to work onsite at our Morrisville, NC location
• Three-dimensional computer design skills
• Completed MET AAS courses including CAD I, II, III, Mechanisms, and Intro in Solid Modeling
• Ability to learn PTC Creo CAD tool and PTC Windchill for CAD data file management

Responsibilities

• Work with an experienced engineer to create parts for a Lenovo server
• Design structural sheet metal enclosures supporting electronic circuit boards
• Create plastic part designs to support adapter cards
• Document designs in 2D drawings and 3D solid models
