About the position
Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to join our team in Rancho Cordova, California. This position is a permanent role focused on the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems, particularly in the areas of HVAC and Plumbing. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing basic engineering principles and techniques to ensure the effective use of equipment and materials in engineering operations. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical system design and the ability to coordinate with architects and other consultants to achieve project goals. In this position, you will assist higher-level engineers with various engineering and project management tasks for assigned projects. You will provide direct support to project managers or team leads, which may include preparing proposals, reports, and researching technical information to support system designs. Your responsibilities will also involve planning and executing technical investigations, analyses, and testing, as well as providing supporting technical and logistics documentation related to design improvements and performance requirements. The Mechanical Engineer III will be expected to perform load calculations, assist with equipment selection, and analyze equipment energy use to optimize system selection. You will produce drawings and specifications for projects with minimal supervision and develop system narratives, which includes writing and organizing documents and creating relevant images. Responsibilities
- Utilize basic engineering principles and techniques, relating to the use of equipment and materials used in engineering operations.
- Review specifications, technical manuals, and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate mechanical system design with architects and other consultants.
- Assist higher level engineers in engineering tasks, and project management tasks for assigned projects.
- Provide direct support to the assigned project managers or team leads.
- May assist with preparation of proposals, reports, and research technical information to support and design systems.
- Support planning and execution efforts for technical investigations, analyses, and testing.
- Provide supporting technical and logistics documentation relative to recommended design improvements and performance requirements.
- Perform load calculations.
- Assist with equipment selection.
- Analyze equipment energy use for optimizing systems selection.
- Produce drawings and specifications for projects with little supervision.
- Develop system narratives (write and organize the document, as well as develop the images).
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years relevant experience in Engineering.
- Current PE registration preferred; E.I.T./F.E. accepted in lieu of PE.
- Green program certified, such as LEED, highly preferred.
