About the position

The Mechanical Engineer Manager/Senior Manager at Lam Research is responsible for leading a team of mechanical engineers in the Hardware Product Development Group, focusing on the design and engineering of deposition products. This role involves overseeing the full product lifecycle, from concept to field support, while ensuring innovation and collaboration across teams to meet customer needs and cost targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5-6 Mechanical engineers on various projects related to current and next-generation applications.
• Manage priorities through the Engineering Priority Lists and coordinate with the India Engineering team.
• Support the functioning of 4-5 lab tools and assist other HW group managers as needed.
• Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their technical capabilities and communication skills.
• Create development plans for employees linked to their yearly compensation planning.
• Establish best practices for innovating solutions, testing, and data analysis.
• Act as the Technical Owner for specific projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, materials science, or equivalent experience; a Ph.D. is a plus.
• Solid background in deposition or etch hardware, process, and productivity development.
• Years of related experience in wafer process equipment and acting as a technical owner for large-scale projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively.
• Strong initiative and ownership in driving projects to completion with systemic thinking capabilities.
• Ability to develop and execute plans and deliver expected business results in a changing environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with complex hardware engineering and device fabrication.
• Familiarity with statistical methods for evaluating test data.
