About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer at BPMI, you will work under significant oversight to perform routine technical functions that support company operations in various areas, including engineering evaluations and analyses, planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, documenting, and testing of nuclear, mechanical, structural, or electrical components, systems, and equipment and facilities. Your work may encompass operations support, safety analysis, vibration analysis, engineering methods and software development, and evaluation of procedures and systems for quality control or manufacturing surveillance. In this role, you will assist with engineering responsibilities that support fleet, field, technology, analysis, manufacturing, facilities, testing, and operations activities. You will be involved in the study, design, application, analysis, testing, or preparation of specifications and processes for systems, materials, equipment, or components relating to a limited aspect of the group's function. You will prepare project plans to accomplish assigned work, identify and complete performance measures, including post-job assessments, and meet project and schedule requirements. Your responsibilities will also include performing analytical evaluations, which may involve the application of existing computer models, and developing an understanding of component and system interrelationships. You will assist in the preparation of technical manuals, reports, or procedures in accordance with NR program quality standards, and participate in the design, development, execution, and evaluation of engineering research and design projects. Additionally, you will complete training and work assignments that are planned to provide experience and familiarize you with the engineering methods and practices of the Company. You will participate in technical discussions with suppliers and evaluate vendor-prepared designs and supporting documents. Furthermore, you will prepare letters to the Government providing technical information, recommending approval of technical actions, or obtaining approval of funding. Monitoring supplier performance and participating in production and quality surveillance and production reviews at supplier plants will also be part of your duties, along with reporting results.
