About the position

Ariel Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development (R&D) team in Mount Vernon, OH. In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding the development of tests and analyzing results for our innovative Ariel Smart Compressor (ASC). The ASC integrates mechanical, electrical, and digital capabilities to monitor the performance of our advanced compressors. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the validity and functionality of the ASC unit, particularly when updates, enhancements, or changes are made to the overall system. You will serve as the technical resource for data processing technologies related to the ASC, manage technical documentation, and conduct tests to ensure field readiness of any changes made. This position is tailored for candidates who possess a strong mechanical inclination, familiarity with electrical systems, and/or software knowledge, and who thrive on solving complex problems. Responsibilities

  • Guide test development for the Ariel Smart Compressor (ASC).
  • Analyze test results to ensure the performance of the ASC unit.
  • Ensure validity and functionality of the ASC unit during updates and enhancements.
  • Serve as the technical resource for data processing technologies within ASC.
  • Manage technical documentation surrounding the ASC unit.
  • Conduct tests to ensure field readiness of changes made to the ASC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting software and/or hardware or mechanically related equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of conducting technical investigations and validating new designs under variable conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop engineering test specifications and create test plans with clear objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of data processing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and advanced computer skills.
  • Strong ability to foster business relationships with internal and external customers.
