About the position

The Mechanical Engineer - Robotics Packages role at NOV involves providing engineering support for mechanical equipment related to Robotics packages both offshore and onshore. The engineer will collaborate with various engineering disciplines and the proposals team, produce and verify design layouts and detail drawings, and contribute to product improvements. This position requires a strong focus on technical content production, including detail/assembly prints, technical reports, and test procedures, in a results-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support on mechanical equipment related to Robotics packages offshore and onshore.
• Interface with multiple NOV engineering group disciplines as required by the project.
• Collaborate with the proposals team as needed.
• Produce or check design layouts and detail drawings.
• Research and specify purchased parts.
• Build robotic package BOMs (Bill of Materials).
• Identify product improvements.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
• 2 or more years of design experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas and thoughts.
• Knowledge of engineering standards and procedures.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and highly motivated.
• Ability to work independently or in a design team setting.
• Able to multitask on multiple projects.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, welding, or related hobbies.
