About the position

The Tactical Hardware Mechanical Engineer will be part of a specialized team responsible for the design, development, and testing of a torpedo tube deployment system for submarines. This role focuses on ensuring that the mechanical systems can withstand harsh environmental conditions while adhering to industry standards and government regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and adjust naval architecture to meet environmental conditions.
• Build and test torpedo tube deployment systems for submarines.
• Create mechanical models and drawings using CAD tools, preferably Creo 8 or Solidworks.
• Ensure compliance with technical, government, and industry standards, including ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100.
• Write technical papers and proposals related to project developments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Over 8 years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
• Advanced proficiency with CAD modeling tools, particularly Creo 8 or Solidworks.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods.
• Ability to write technical papers and proposals.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in designing electro-mechanical systems for harsh environments.
• Experience performing structural and thermal analyses for submarine requirements.
