About the position

ASRC Federal is seeking a highly motivated Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer to support the ASTROS Contract. This role involves performing engineering and analysis on the test stands and structures that support testing at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing detailed reports to site leadership and customers, contributing to the testing of advanced propulsion systems. The position requires a proactive approach to engineering tasks, with a focus on collaboration and communication with various teams involved in the project. The engineer will receive assignments from a Senior Engineer and will be expected to work independently to complete these tasks while providing regular status updates. The role includes utilizing design software to plan upgrades to the Test Facility and collaborating with other disciplines to develop an overall project schedule. Building strong relationships with the buildup crew is essential to create a cohesive team environment. The engineer will also be responsible for writing and editing test procedures, assisting in test readiness, and providing routine briefings to senior management and customers regarding the progress of the build-up. This position offers a competitive salary range of $77,000 - $129,000, depending on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. Responsibilities

  • Receive assignments from Senior Engineer and work to completion providing status updates as needed.
  • Work with design software to plan the upgrades to a Test Facility.
  • Collaborate with all other disciplines and assist in developing the overall Project Schedule.
  • Develop work assignments to ensure the build occurs according to plan.
  • Build relationships with the buildup crew and create a strong team environment.
  • Work independently and communicate progress effectively.
  • Write and edit test procedures.
  • Provide routine briefings to Senior Engineer, Customers, and Program Management of Build Up Progress Status.
  • Assist in test readiness prior to receiving customer's permission to test.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related Engineering Degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role.
  • Technical writing ability.
  • Experience in engineering design software.
  • Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities.
