About the position

The Sustaining Product Development (SPD) Engineer is a technical problem solver responsible for executing design activities for Rehlko's industrial generators. This hybrid role involves working in cross-functional teams to design and validate parts, assemblies, and systems that align with business goals, cost targets, and customer needs. The position offers the opportunity to impact internal and external customers while working in a fast-paced and technically challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute design activities for current Rehlko industrial generators.
  • Design and validate parts, assemblies, and systems to support business and sourcing strategies.
  • Meet cost and warranty targets while resolving design issues for customers and manufacturing.
  • Contribute to the identification and evaluation of alternatives by recommending evaluation methods and criteria.
  • Assure functional acceptability through application of engineering tools, analysis, and testing.
  • Document specifications and achieve product technical, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support design projects for cost reduction through VAVE and sourcing strategy implementation.
  • Support manufacturing strategy to reduce downtime and improve assembly throughput.
  • Provide ongoing design support for existing products, resolving design issues and supporting supply chain issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and design direction to CAD Analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar engineering field.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in an engineering field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a mix of conceptual design and hands-on activities.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with VAVE and manufacturing strategies.
