About the position

Nexeo HR is seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Engineer V for a direct hire opportunity in Providence, UT. This hybrid role is ideal for individuals passionate about advanced mechanical engineering projects and leading innovative solutions. The Mechanical Engineer V will take on challenging projects independently, guide their team with expertise, and report to a manager or supervisor, contributing to significant industry advancements with their technical acumen and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis of data, including customer design proposals, specifications, and technical manuals, to assess the feasibility of proposed designs or applications.
  • Develop and design advanced products and systems for robotic control, incorporating electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles and components.
  • Participate in the fabrication and installation processes to ensure products and systems meet engineering specifications and align with customer requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate the operation, maintenance, and repair activities to maximize the efficiency of machinery and equipment.
  • Create and develop products and systems that seamlessly integrate machines, hardware, and software for optimized performance.
  • Assess field installations, identify potential improvements, and recommend design modifications to resolve machine or system issues and prevent malfunctions.
  • Actively contribute to design review sessions to ensure the quality, functionality, and efficiency of products and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; master's degree preferred. Degree in Chemical Engineering could be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience required for level V.
  • 5-10 years of machine & product design experience using Solid Works, Pro-E, or Catia.
  • Proficient design skills in CAD/SolidWorks software.
  • Experience with complex electromechanical systems design.
  • Experience in flow analysis and thermal analysis.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Proficient at manufacturing processes
  • Experience leading a multidiscipline team of engineers.
  • Experience with patent law
  • Basic understanding of business management, sales, marketing, and business finance.
  • System + Conceptual Design Experience
  • Experience with Jira Project Tracking Software
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology
  • Spanish speaking.
