About the position

CleanJoule Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to collaborate with engineering and construction partners, focusing on construction-driven engineering to ensure safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs. The role involves designing and constructing a demonstration facility, including tanks and vessels, and requires strong mechanical engineering and project management skills to ensure successful project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical products and systems using sound engineering principles.
  • Evaluate and design mechanical systems and products applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Collect data, analyze, and summarize information for developing future equipment.
  • Provide engineering information or advice by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and repair services to keep equipment operations.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing team-related goals and results.
  • Monitor and enforce CleanJoule's safety and OSHA safety standards.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address equipment or safety deficiencies.
  • Review drawings, documents, and equipment datasheets for compliance with corporate standards.
  • Coordinate the work of in-house designers and outside engineering contractors.
  • Participate in area HAZOP reviews and incident investigations.
  • Manage multiple projects and assignments in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner.
  • Apply project management skills in all phases of project engineering.
  • Provide discipline input and equipment selection oversight to engineering projects.
  • Interact daily with project team members to develop and execute project objectives.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests.
  • Participate in commissioning and startup activities, including loop checking and calibration of instruments.
  • Confer with management and project stakeholders throughout a project's life cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the mechanical engineering field, preferably with petrochemical experience or plant construction.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design or engineering software.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or Solid Works operation.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience working with third-party EPC and Engineering partners.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
