About the position

The Mechanical Engineer position at Lynker Corporation involves supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) by designing, planning, testing, installing, and operating electromechanical systems in marine environments. This role is crucial for the development of innovative solutions in weather and climate science, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and scientific expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, test, install, and operate electromechanical systems in the marine environment.
  • Perform full lifecycle product development including design, development, testing of prototypes, and manufacturing.
  • Produce prototype and production drawing packages.
  • Engage in project engineering and marine structural design activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in the design, planning, testing, installation, and operation of electromechanical systems in marine environments.
  • Experience with design, repair, and overhaul of marine systems including hulls, appendages, superstructures, and mooring systems.
  • Project engineering experience and marine structural design experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Auto-Desk, or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Experience with dynamic marine systems and/or underwater mooring design is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Ocean, or Marine Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ORCAFlex is a plus.
